Web developer in Manchester: three claims about the build you can check yourself
I rebuild sites a business can't edit, and build new ones from a blank scope. Either way, your own team ends up able to change the pages. I lead each job myself from Kolkata, India, and I'm glad to be your web developer in Manchester.
Overview
Recovery comes before the build
If your current site sits on a platform none of your staff can edit, the first job is recovery. I start by finding where the domain is registered. Next comes the hosting, and who holds it.
Then I check which logins still work, and note any that don't so we can chase them with the provider. Only after that does the new build start.

Side by side
The three claims, and where to check each
None of these needs my help to verify. If one of them fails your check, say so, and it gets put right before any other work goes ahead.
| The claim | Where you check it | What you should see |
|---|---|---|
| The scope is a list you can argue with | The scope document I send before work starts | Each page and feature on a line of its own |
| The staging link stays open | A URL you can open whenever you like, for the whole project | The current state of your site |
| Every account is yours | Your registrar and hosting logins | Your name as the account holder |
Your first changes, written down
When we talk, have three or four changes you'd make to the site written down. Those changes open the scope, and on the call we'll see whether the site you have now can take them.
What moves the number
How big a Manchester rebuild gets
A recovery adds tracing work before the build begins, and a clean start skips it.
| What changes it | Why |
|---|---|
| Recovering an existing site | the domain, hosting and content are traced and moved first |
| Transfers | a domain or host move follows that provider's own process |
| Pages and features in the scope | each line is its own piece of work |
| Case studies | described in outline where the client agrees, or left out |
| Rankings worth keeping | each old address is mapped to its new one |
| A smaller first phase | possible when the full scope is larger than you need to launch |
What changes the size of the job.
Where this comes from
What's on the record already
Anyone can open the projects page and read reviews from UK clients who consented to being named. Those reviews come from a record of 900+ projects completed since 2017.
I lead every build myself, and everything I do shows up on a link or in a login you can open. The layouts are on that staging link too, so you approve each one before any code is written. The team works on your schedule, in your time zone.
What a scope from me looks like
In scope for a website rebuild
Included
- A written scope: every page and feature as its own line, agreed before work starts
- Design to build, reviewed on a staging URL that stays open the whole project
- Mobile first — checked on a real phone
- Domain, hosting and every account created in your name from day one
- A check of what can be recovered or reused
- Basic on-page SEO: titles, descriptions, headings, sitemap, Search Console connected
- Written steps your team can follow for small edits
Phase two
- Case studies of past work, described in outline where clients agree
- Further pages after launch
- Ongoing SEO once the site has traffic to read
- A maintenance plan once the site is live
- Logo and brand design, quoted separately from the build
Not doing
- Guaranteed rankings
- Registering any account under a name other than yours
If parts of the current site can be reused, I say which ones before you agree to anything. Whatever can't be reused is listed too, with the reason.

FAQ
Before a recovery starts
For a business that already has a site.
What happens to the site if a business moves on to someone else?
- The site stays with the business if it moves on to someone else. The written steps and a copy of the code are already yours, and I'll walk whoever comes next through how it's built.
Can a domain held in someone else's account be moved?
- A domain held in another account can be moved through the registrar's own transfer process. The current holder has to release it, and I handle the steps with you. If the holder can't be reached, the registrar's support team is the next step.
Does a recovery mean losing the current search rankings?
- A recovery keeps the rankings wherever it can. I list the pages that bring visitors now, keep their addresses or redirect them, and check after launch that every one still resolves.
Can the existing text and photographs be kept?
- Existing text and photographs can be kept, page by page. Every item is copied across and checked on the staging link, and anything out of date is marked for you to rewrite or drop. Nothing comes off the old site until the new one is live.
Who makes the changes once the site is live?
- Once the site is live, small changes are yours to make. That covers text, photographs and a new page from an existing layout. For anything larger, my team can do it, or a maintenance plan can cover it. The code is yours either way.
Will a rebuild change how the site looks?
- A rebuild keeps the current look wherever it still suits the business, and the work happens underneath it. A page that no longer fits what you do gets a new layout. You approve each one on the staging link before anything changes on the live site.
Next step
Which login can't you find?
The account nobody can find is the right place to start. Mention it when you book, and tracing it is the first thing we do together.
